Its Getting Cold in Wyoming!

We had a rainy day in the campground, which cleared out the smoke from the fires in California, and it was snowing in the mountains above Jackson Hole.  This made for some pretty skies for a couple of days.

Moose!!

These moose are residents at the campground.  One morning, our friend Paul knocked on our door for “Moose Alert!”  I came out fast with my camera.  They were right by our campsite.  I took many pics, most without other people in them or trailers (which was hard to do.)  I think I got too close to Old Custer, the bull and he looked me straight in the eye.  At this point I moved out of the way!

Fly Fishing on the Snake River

Our first stop was to stop at the Visitor’s Center to get bear spray.  The clerk told Bruce that the only attack this summer had been near Jackson Dam where a bear wanted to take a guy’s fish.  Its recommended you carry bear spray whenever you are hiking or fishing.

River Road

Snake River from River Road

The river road follows the Snake River on the opposite side of the highway that goes through the park.  Its a dirt road and is a nice ride even without the fishing.

The Beaver Pond and Day Two of Fishing

IMG_0646
In this area of the park there are several beaver dams. We were searching for a good fishing spot but took a little hike here instead, no good fishing area here though

The Peanut Gallery,

We didn’t catch a single fish,  but every single float boat that went by told us that they hadn’t either.

“Them fish are Wiley!”
